A pipeline metal detector is a specific type of industrial metal detector designed to inspect products passing through pipelines—liquid, viscous, pasty, or pumpable products.
Main industries that use pipeline metal detectors:
- Food industry, dairy, meat processing, beverages, for example: Yogurt, condensed milk, cream cheese, ground meat, pâtés, pasty sausages, fruit pulps, purees, sweets, sauces, creams, soups, among others.
- Pharmaceutical industry: creams, suspensions, syrups, among others.
- Cosmetics industry: creams, lotions, ointments, toothpastes, shampoos, hygiene products, hair masks, among others.
The system is installed in line with the production pipeline.
The product is pumped through the detector, which creates an electromagnetic field — if there is metallic contamination (ferrous, non-ferrous or stainless steel), the field is disturbed, and the system:
- Emits an alarm or rejection signal;
- Activates an automatic bypass valve, removing only the contaminated part of the flow. |
